The if Awards, Australia's only film awards voted by Australian film audiences, will be held in Sydney at Wharf 8, The Rocks.
Presenters at this, the second annual if Awards, will include Pia Miranda, Nick Giannopolous, Anthony Lapaglia, Gia Carides, Tom Long, Alex Dimitriades, Sophie Lee, David Bradbury, Barry Otto and Tara Morice. Baz Luhrmann will make a keynote address via a video broadcast.
Innocence received a total of eight nominations including best actor, best actress and best script. Chopper received a total of five nominations, including best actor and best cinematography. Looking for Alibrandi also received six nominations including best actress and best cinematography.
Tickets for the if Awards 2000 are available through Ticketek 9266-4800 ($55 for if Club members, SPAA fringe delegates and students, $75 general admission including GST). Tables of 12 people are also available for $1650 including GST through if magazine 9332-2121.
Music at the if Awards party will be by Bongoboy (Babs-on Inc and Wicked Beat Sound System), DJ Crucial (one of Australia's most respected DJs) and DJ Jizz, the hottest new turntablist to come out of Sydney in years.
