Movie propaganda

In the great tradition of Snow White and the seven dwarfs and Cinderella, Disney's 11th animated classic, The adventures of Ichabod and Mister Toad, introduces two literary classics to the screen. Through award-winning Disney animated wizardry, these unforgettable children's stories come together as one fabulous adventure.

The wind in the willows follows the wild ride of J Thaddeus Toad, Squire of Toad Hall. Smitten with motorcars, the wealthy and reckless sportsman soon drives his close friends Mole, Rat and Angus Macbadger into a worried frenzy! Then meet Ichabod Crane, the spindly school teacher who dreams of sweeping the lovely Katrina off her feet - until Brom Bones, the town bully, gets involved. Their rivalry introduces Ichabod to the legend of Sleepy Hollow, the fabled headless horseman and a hair-raising heart thumping climax.

The adventures of Ichabod and Mister Toad is brimming with high-sprited adventure, brilliant animation and captivating music.

Theatrical report

Wow, this is an old film from the good old days when cartoons were cartoons and everything had a happy ending.

Toad's story is a fun bunch of hijinks celebrating the adventurer within, showing you what joys it can achieve but also what pains it can receive. Ichabod's story is the Disney retelling of the classic American myth. It's the darker, scarier side of Disney (inasmuch as there is one).

Both toons are entertaining enough to watch for yourself; youngsters will sit happily with the electronic baby sitter if you put this on. While not as full of colour and movement as, say, the 90s version of Tarzan, it still manages to catch the eye. Your parents and grandparents will enjoy it too, for the stroll down memory lane and the storytelling abilities of Basil Rathburne and Bing Crosby. Fun for the whole family.
