Theatrical report
Herbie: Fully reloaded is less about a millennial girl bringing a VW to the noughties as it is about a 20th century car bringing a girl to the seventies. Heck, the male lead even has long hair and bushy eyebrows. That's the downside.
The upside is that this latest episode in the Herbie Chronicles still manages to be mostly funny, occasionally hilarious and generally not scary for little children. You can take the kiddies to the cinema for an afternoon's babysitting then buy them the DVD for Christmas, no worries.
