After an ancient truce existing between humankind and the invisible realm of the fantastic is broken, hell on Earth is ready to erupt. Hellboy 2: the Golden Army is an image-driven action flick that blows you out of your seat. There is so much going on that you'll find it hard to process in real time. Every scene has a special effect of some kind (prosthetics, make-up, CGI). It's like a music video on acid or maybe Australia's funniest home videos on speed. It's a lot of fun but if you can't handle riding a roller coaster you won't be able to hack this movie. It's kind of like watching all three episodes of The Matrix on the same screen at the same time.
