Movie propaganda
The rebellion begins.
In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community is in denial about the teenager's recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), preferring to turn a blind eye to the news that Voldemort has returned.
Fearing that Hogwarts' venerable Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon), is lying about Voldemort's return in order to undermine his power and take his job, the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge (Robert Hardy), appoints a new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher to keep watch over Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students.
But Professor Dolores Umbridge's (Imelda Staunton) Ministry-approved course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the dark forces threatening them and the entire wizarding community, so at the prompting of his friends Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint), Harry takes matters into his own hands.Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves "Dumbledore's Army," Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts, preparing the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.

Theatrical report
Woo hoo! Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is wicked. Not only have all the kids hit puberty but Harry's story arc is really taking off, too. The darkness that has been building from the beginning is now so dark that it's nearly impenetrable. The bumbling interference of well-intentioned but badly-executed plans from the higher-ups play right into the hands of He-whose-name-must-not-be-mentioned. All in all, it sounds a bit like certain heads of state bungling their way through Gulf War II.
JK Rowling is writing a real treat for young and old and this film does a great service to her work. See it and enjoy, only three more to go!
