Movie propaganda

Don't look behind you.

Adaptation of the third book in JK Rowling's popular children's novels about Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), a boy who learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own.

Fearing punishment from Aunt Petunia (Fiona Shaw) and Uncle Vernon (Richard Griffiths) after "inflating" Petunia's sister, Harry lunges out into the darkness with his heavy trunk and his owl Hedwig. As it turns out, Harry isn't punished at all for his errant wizardry. Instead he is mysteriously rescued from his Muggle neighbourhood and whisked off in a triple-decker, violently purple bus to spend the remaining weeks of summer in a friendly inn called the Leaky Cauldron. What Harry has to face as he begins his third year at Hogwarts explains why the officials let him off easily. It seems that Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) - an escaped convict from the prison of Azkaban - is on the loose. Not only that, but he's after Harry Potter. But why? And why do the Dementors, the guards hired to protect him, chill Harry's very heart when others are unaffected?

Theatrical report

Yay! Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban is a fun, action-filled adventure that builds on the previous two films, with a solid plot and good acting. Daniel Radcliffe is coming a long nicely, but neither he nor Emma Watson nor Rupert Grint can pass for 13. Maybe the script should've been changed to accommodate puberty.
