George Wallace

Threat advisory: Under evaluation

Movie propaganda

Alabama governor George Wallace (Gary Sinise) promoted his racist views without regret or apology, becoming a blazing symbol of the most shameful era in American history. His rise to power and fall from grace made him one of the most controversial political figuresin decaes, garnering undying legions of enraged critics and staunch allies throughout the country.

When Wallace was paralysed by an assassin's bullet during his 1972 presidential campaign his lfe would never be the same again. Caught on camera by the attending media, the assassination attempt became one of the most identifiable pieces of news footage in the history of the medium.

Director John Frankenheimer brilliantly recreates this and many other moments that define a most fascinating life - of a man who once hungered for power and now hungers for forgiveness.
