Far from Grace.

Gabriel is a dark action/drama that takes place in the realm of Purgatory. It reveals the struggle between Arc and Fallen Angels for control over the city and its population of reborn souls.

At present, darkness rules and Gabriel (Andy Whitfield), the last of seven Arcs sent to bring back light, must assume a human form. In the darkest places of the human soul, this lone Arc Angel's battle with his human feelings will prove as perilous as facing the fallen.

Ok, the first thing that you have to realise about this film is that Andy Whitfield is HOT. And he can hit things. Put him on your Next Big Thing list.

Meanwhile, much of Gabriel is your standard angels vs demons battle for the souls of humanity amidst the sinfulness of the big city (Don't take drugs). What is good about this latest version is that the big city is corrupting the angels faster than the angels can redeem it. In fact, the demons (aka fallen angels) are little more than an excuse for everyone to behave badly.

I'm still not sure who this Grace character is as she doesn't appear in any of the credits.

Even though it's not a great movie, Gabriel is still a fun movie if you're into that whole Goth/Satanist/ex-Catholic weird shit. With horn-bags.
