Theatrical report

If I could get away with writing four words as a review, it would save you a lot of time from reading and spending more time buying tickets online to see it in the cinema. Like I will be doing as soon as I have money in my bank account. Didn't I already see the movie? Yes, and I even had the privilege of seeing in the Paramount private theatrette; in a room large enough to seat 31 other people, who had glasses of wine, bottles of beer, or other beverages compliments of Paramount. But I want to see it again, preferably in VMAX, with the comfy leather seats @ Bondi Junction, bigger screen and better sound. Because I really, really, REALLY liked this movie. I had my doubts; I also had my doubts about Transformers when it was first released and subsequently Transformers: revenge of the fallen. Three times now I have to admit that perhaps Hasbro may have executives with a clue and love of their product.

I grew up with the figurines, and occasionally would go over to friends houses to see their hovercraft, MLRS trucks, Cobra attack helicopters, submarines, and the plethora of action figures in the variety of terrain/weather gear... You getting a better picture now? I may not have been the biggest fan of it back then but I am very happy that the movie did not butcher what remaining memories I had of growing up.

It had its cheesy moments, its clichés, and what seemed to be a parallel to Return of the Jedi in theme; but apart from that, I could not have asked for a better script. I want everyone over the age of 30 to go out and see this movie. I want anyone over the age of 60 to remember all of those Christmas gifts you bought for your children, nieces & nephews and grandchildren; all of those birthday presents; how many toy-chests were overflowing; how many plastic bits you caught the household pet chewing on... and ask yourselves after you've seen this movie: Do you want to see it again?
