Movie propaganda

A social realist art movie with a sophisticated pop soundtrack.

Happy-go-lucky, with no careers, kids or wealth to worry about, Jack (Marin Mimica), Kit (Nadine Garner) and E (Bridie Carter) rent an old house in Sydney's inner city. It's cheap and cosmopolitan. And polluted.

Jack: Chronic motorist. Working class parents. Kit's inhibited boyfriend. A failed short-filmmaker. Soon to be employed again. Once played soccer. Crippled by his past failures. Still dreams of being a hero. 29 years old.

Kit: Avid pedestrian. Parentless. Jack's intelligent girlfriend. An instinctive painter. Works part-time in an Asian deli. Plays the piano accordion. Wondering about her future. Wishes art was as popular as sport. Aged 27.

E: Taxi addict. Rich dad, estranged. Kit's indulgent best friend. A budding pop musician. Casual university student. Lives day by day. Makes a zine illustrating what she does with her friends. 27 turning 28.

Carefree? Maybe not. It's time Jack woke up, Kit moved on and E got real.
