When internet-generated rumours begin circulating that the three stars of the independent film Home for Purim - directed by Jay Berman (Christopher Guest) - may be producing Oscar-worthy performances, the trio of Marilyn Hack (Catherine O'Hara), journeyman and hotdog pitchman Victor Allan Miller (Harry Shearer) and ingénue Callie Webb (Parker Posey) begin to feel the rumble of excitement.
Then Entertainment now anchors Chuck Porter (Fred Willard) and Cindy Martin (Jane Lynch) pick up the buzz and feed it with an on-air segment from the set. Award fever infects the entire production as the hopeful Purim team careens toward the end of production and the impending Award nominations, tenuous relationships and brittle dreams play out in unexpected ways.

For a film which is not being touted as a mockumentary, For your consideration is a hell of a lot like a mockumentary. It's sharp, biting, vicious, witty, satirical and black: everything you expect from the mockumentary kings. Unfortunately, it's also everything you expect from the mockumentary kings. Still, it's gotta be better than any of the films that Hollywood is producing off their own bat.
The comedy, mockumentary movie For your consideration is directed by Christopher Guest and stars Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Parker Posey.
