Ladies and gentlemen! History has been made! For the first time in history, it's gonna start rainin' men!
No, hang on, that's not right. for the first time in history, a rip-off, straight-to-video film has been released before the original theatrical release film! Epoch is the same as Evolution, but better.

Theatrical report
Not what I expected.
Being released straight to video, I expected Epoch to be a bit dodgy, at best, and at worst a great big dog. What it turned out to be is a B+grade science fiction/action flick with a lot of clichés but all tied up in a very clever package that makes it more interesting than it should be.
Don't get me wrong, Epoch is no Close encounters of the third kind and certainly no Star wars, but it also isn't the kind of video you shudder to take off the shelf of your local video shop yet you have to because of your addiction to all things from outer space.
You'll get a good hit with not too many nasty side effects.
