Movie propaganda
An extraordinary event brought them together. A deadly obsession will tear them apart.
Joe (Daniel Craig) has planned a postcard-perfect afternoon in the English countryside with his partner, Claire (Samantha Morton). But as they prepare to open a bottle of champagne, a hot air balloon drifts into the field. The pilot's leg is caught in the anchor rope, and the only passenger, a boy, is too scared to jump down. Joe and three other men rush to secure the basket, but a strong wind rushes into the field and the rescuers are airborne. Joe and most of his companions manage to drop to the ground, but one man is lifted skywards. As they watch this strangely beautiful sight, they see the man fall to his death. Joe sets out to find the fallen man, accompanied by a bedraggled looking drifter named Jed (Rhys Ifans). On discovering the man's corpse, Jed insists that they pray over the body.
Later, Joe cannot forget the balloon incident and he winds up alienating Claire and his friends. Jed reappears and, claiming that the "religious revelations" he and Joe shared marks them as soul-mates, beings stalking the now vulnerable Joe. The two men begin a dirty combat for the meaning of their experience in the field, and Claire slowly becomes the victim in their increasingly violent showdown.

Theatrical report
Enduring love is a really good thriller and an even better pun. Enduring love = A love that lasts forever. Enduring love = Putting up with a love that lasts forever. Cool.
Although the casting of Rhys Ifans as a nutter is somewhat cliché (see Human nature), he, Samantha Morton and Daniel Craig - all darlings of the Icon Film Distribution/Palace Films set - are all grittily, dirtily, sweatily good. It's also fun to see a stalkee who is as obsessed as his stalker.
There are some great special effects, the best of which is when John Logan falls from the balloon. You'll shit yourself.
Enjoy Enduring love for what it is: a British art-house thriller.
