Theatrical report
Law-abiding citizen is better. It has bigger explosions and is more twisted and offers the chance of redemption to one of the characters. Edge of darkness is too shallow to be surprising; if I can guess that the girl would be killed getting out of the car and that the milk is toxic then there's not enough depth. Besides, when a good man takes on a bad man there's only one way that the story can go.
Edge of darkness is not so much a roller coaster thrill-ride as it is a merry-go-round, not so much Edge of darkness as the light going out in the hallway.
The crime, thriller movie Edge of darkness is directed by Martin Campbell and stars Mel Gibson, Ray Winstone, Danny Huston.
