There is only what you believe.
When a serial killer leaves a trail of gruesome deaths in Taipei, the police department call for the expertise of the FBI. Ace detective Huang Huo-to (Tony Leung) and FBI Special Agent David Richter (David Morse) join forces to track down the killer. The victims are unrelated but when the coroner finds mysterious black fungus inside their brains Huang begins to suspect something else is at work. He discovers a pattern to the murders in an ancient and obscure Taoist diagram. It is a formula for achieving immortality by sending one's enemies through the five gruesome levels of hell and it predicts more victims are to come.
