Theatrical report
One of the opening scenes of District 13: Ultimatum show a man walking along a wall planting explosives on it, they explode after he has walked
a small distance from each of them, Police quickly turn up, get our of their cars and chase him on foot. A guy that was playing with explosives
doesn't get shot at or even have guns pointed at him, he is chased as if he stole a handbag. This sets the scene for the rest of the movie, there are so many parts which
will have you thinking 'this makes no sense at all'. This can be forgiven to an extent because it is an action movie and things don't have to make
sense or be one hundred percent accurate but having at least some believable scenes would be nice. The other main issue with District 13:Ultimatum is the
plotline, or rather the lack of one. This review probably contains more text than it would take to write the plot. The worst part about the plot is not that it
is pretty much non existant, it's that you don't know that until halfway through the movie where there is some dialogue that starts to explain what
is going on but not much is said. Up until this point the movie had been a lot of running, fighting, jumping, arresting people and shooting.
If you want to watch a movie which consists of fighting and basically nothing else, you will enjoy District 13:Ultimatum. There are plenty of fights
with lots of running, jumping from buildings, bouncing off walls and a few explosions thrown in here and there too bad they didn't use any at the end
of the movie. If you want an action movie that's what you get with District 13: Ultimatum. Just don't try to understand a plot that isn't there.
