Get ready for a killer ride.
In the near-future prisons are run by a corporation which uses inmates to participate in the most popular sport on earth, a brutal adrenalin-fuelled game of carnage in which monster cars are fitted with machine guns, flame-throwers and rocket launchers.
Former racing champion Jensen Arnes (Jason Statham) is just 2 months away from release when the corporation selects him for the biggest event of the season, the Death Race. Facing a gauntlet of the most vicious criminals on the planet, he must kill or be killed in a brutal 3-day challenge for the ultimate prize: Freedom.

Special Agent Matti
Hooray, another Jason Statham movie! I like his cool suave approach. He's a big man, who's got a heart of gold and knows how to look after himself without pushing anyone else around in the process. Concept of the movie was good, but I think more could have been done to develop the beginning and ending. The length was appropriate and the surprise within the race was not fully expected. Not too over the top and not too boring for the girls who go along to these films for the benefit of their blokes. If there are any men out there that do this, I've got no advice for you: you're not exempt from voting and I'll see you at Tribal Council.
I'm still hoping for a sequel or a remake to Blade Runner but this will tide me over for another 10 runs until the creative juices start flowing in Hollywood.
The action, crime, science fiction movie Death Race is directed by Paul WS Anderson and stars Jason Statham, Joan Allen, Tyrese Gibson.
