Threat advisory: Guarded - General risk of entertaining activities

Movie propaganda

On a nuclear submarine it only takes one man to start a war.

The USS Lansing is one of the world's fastest and fiercest nuclear submarines, patrolling the world's oceans loaded with missiles carrying enormous firepower. When a North Korean nuclear missile test goes wrong, the sub detects radioactivity in the atmosphere above. Some of the senior officers on board believe a nuclear war has started and vow to fight back.

One officer, Commander Sheffield (Casper Van Dien), is not convinced and finds himself in a race against time as he battles a mutinous crew to regain control of the vessel, avert nuclear war and avoid being destroyed by his own side.

Theatrical report

Crimson tide: The B-movie.

Danger beneath the sea is a second rate version of a pretty good submarine flick. If you've seen Das boot, The hunt for Red October, U-571 and even Crimson tide too many times, only then should you give this one a go.

Lots of shots of Casper Van Dien with a strong jaw, and even one shower scene. Come on, it is the Navy.
