Cubby house

Threat advisory: Under evaluation

Movie propaganda

Evil has found a new home.

When Lynn Graham (Belinda McClory) relocates her young family from the USA to Australia, she has no idea that her new home is the gateway to Hell. The portal exists in the form of a derelict children's playhouse, or cubbyhouse, which Natalie (aged 6) and Ivan (aged 8) discover at the bottom of their garden.

Lynn's children are captivated by it, powerless to resist possession by an unseen force who commands them to perform Satanic rites that will release its apocalyptic powers.

Meanwhile, their older brother Danny (Joshua Leonard) and neighbour Bronwyn McChristie (Lauren Hewett), are taunted by a local shopkeeper who declares the house to be "pure evil". The two resolve to discover the cubbyhouse's dark secret and are horrified to learn that thirty years earlier, it was the scene of a black magic ritual where two young children were slain.

Lynn tries to ban her youngest from venturing near the playhouse, but the possession is complete. That evening Natalie and Ivan perform the first of three dark rituals that will free the demon.
