Movie propaganda
A hero is measured by the enemies he makes.
Rafe Covington (Tom Selleck) values one thing above all - his word. Just before his good friend dies, Rafe makes a vow to look after his widow, Anne Rodney (Virginia Madsen), and promises to protect her Wyoming ranch. This strong code of honour leads Rafe and his two travelling companions, Mullaney (David O'Hara) and JT Langston (Christian Kane), to her small town, which is being terrorised by a conniving land owner, Bruce Barkow (Mark Harmon), and his hired gun, Beau Dorn (Brad Johnson). Rafe takes on Barkow but Anne remains unsure of his motives. Ultimately, she must let her heart decide who to trust.
Also starring Wilford Brimley as Joe Gill, Barry Corbin as Sheriff Walter Moncrief, Joanna Miles as Melissa Thompson, Ken Pogue as Gene Thompson, Patrick Kilpatrick as Mike Taggart, Rex Linn as Luke Taggart, William Sanderson as Dewey and Kyla Anderson as Millie. Written by Charles Robert Carner from the book by Louis L'Amour, directed by Simon Wincer.

Theatrical report
Tom stars as the star of a movie about a star cowboy who fulfils a promise and saves the day. It's very similar to the Australian cowboy film he did a few years ago called Quigley down under. Actually, it's very similar to every film he's ever done: crap. There's something about his rugged appearance that says "I've got the heroic looks but no talent to do anything but a TV series about a private dick".
*Sighs*
Why do they keep hiring him? Crossfire Trail was bad at the very beginning and it never got any better. It has a weak plot, poor acting and a best-forgotten cast of thousands. Don't hire it, just wait until it's broadcast on Channel 10.
