Some thing has found us.
Five young New Yorkers throw their friend a going-away party the night that a monster the size of a skyscraper descends upon the city. Told from the point of view of their video camera, the film is a document of their attempt to survive the most surreal, horrifying event of their lives.

I couldn't watch all of Cloverfield because the camera work is all hand-held and that made me nauseous but the part I did see was entertaining. It's a bunch of dumb New Yorkers panicking when disaster strikes and doing entirely the wrong thing.
Duck and cover, people!
There was lots of violence, special effects and shooting (yay for soldiers!) so that was good. Also, apparently, everyone dies, so that's good, too.
If you can watch Blair of the worlds you'll like Cloverfield.
