If you believe in love at first sight you never stop looking.
Director Mike Nichols brings Patrick Marber's highly acclaimed theatrical tour de force Closer to the screen, an erotically charged tale of love, loneliness and betrayal featuring an all-star cast. When a young stripper, Alice (Natalie Portman), is hit by a taxi, she meets Dan (Jude Law), an obituary writer. They flirt a bit and soon move in together. However along comes Anna (Julia Roberts), a seductive photographer with whom Dan becomes completely infatuated. Of course, they have an affair. Along the way he also manages to ruin the life of a doctor, Larry (Clive Owen), firstly setting him up with Anna and then taking her from him.
