It's been years since wedding bells have rung in this shrinking village on the Donegal coast. Divorces and funerals are par for the course but with so few eligible and interested women left there seem to be no perfect matches possible.
The single men around here stay single unless they give up and leave their enchanted home. So it is that Kieran O'Donnagh (Ian Hart), a slightly bloated bachelor and his lovelorn mates hatch a plan to bring true love at last into their midst. But when they scheme to entice American beauties in their annual village dance, the result is an unexpected round of romances with the least likely of women; the ones right in front of their faces.
It turns out the women of the village hold the real mischief and surprises. The harder the men attempt to lure the lovers from across the sea, the more the local ladies see the stuff their lads are made of, and find themselves doing the luring.
Also starring Niamh Cusack, Sean McGinley, Ewan Stewart, Sean McDonagh, Cathleen Bradley and Pat Shortt. Written by William Ivory, directed by Aileen Ritchie.

Theatrical report
Lots of fun and laughter plus the preposterous notion of getting American women to go to Ireland.Fortunately the locals realise that in order to get some fun lovin' all they need do is look to the local women, for in them are the true parts of love.
