Movie propaganda

The controlled chaos is refreshingly rendered with a sly nod to every Paris cliché in the book -

Variety.

Vibrant, rickety and funny - Cosmopolitan.

Fina conducts the production with an intensity and a poetry that amazes - Le monde.

A flavourful comedy about a young Venezuelan woman who flees her wedding to go to Paris and begin the adventure of her life. Ana lands in an overcrowded room with four Latina acquaintances. A video maker named Celeste easily flows into the role of wicked stepsister as she deviously manipulates situations that could help Ana achieve her dream of becoming an opera star.

Theatrical report

Oh, those wacky Venezuelans! Oh those zany French!

A quirky wee plot that piles misfortune upon misfortune for heroine Ana. Who are the goodies? Who are the baddies? Will Ana find out in time? Will she finally get to audition for uber-director Halo Medici's production of Cinderella? And what about the fetishist across the hall?

So many questions, so many possibilities. (How many clichés can you fit into one review?) This left-of-centre comedy with romance plinkles its way about Paris with a wonderful incestuousness that is sure to charm the Reverend F Nile. Not. One part art wank, one part lezzo love fest, one part Bewitched on acid, all mixed with a good dash of cynicism.

If this review is a bit disjointed, it's probably because I overdid the medication this morning. Or maybe my blond roots are coming through.

Time for a bitch. The lip-synching wasn't quite up to par and that's important for a movie about an opera singer but if you're looking for a couple of hours diversion, then this movie is for you.
