Seth MacFarlane is a madman. It's convenient (or conspiratorial), then, that his latest DVD is being released by Madman Entertainment. Hmmm...
On this DVD you'll see about a zillion animated shorts all in the same style as Family guy and American dad. If you don't like them then you won't like this. If you do like them but think that Seth obviously sold out to the TV executives and pulled his punches then you'll love the cavalcade of cartoon comedy that is Seth MacFarlane's Cavalcade of cartoon comedy. The punches aren't just thrown at full strength, there are some kicks, some slaps and even a bit of biting.
I'm not a fan of Seth's mainstream work. The moronic father, masochistic mother, bratty kids and talking dog formula has never appealed to me so I started watching this DVD with some trepidation, but by the end I was lying, gasping on the couch like a stunned mullet on the beach. This DVD will upset you into laughing despite your better intentions. I can almost call Seth a larrikin, and it doesn't get much better than that.
