Movie propaganda

In the untamed frontier, a mother and daughter will face the ultimate test of courage, friendship and love.

In the tradition of her roles in Sarah, Plain and tall and Skylark, award-winning actress Glenn Close returns to the wild west in the captivating drama California gold.

She plays Arvella Whipple, a recently widowed mother of three, determined to make a new life for herself and her family. Much to the disgust of her eldest daughter California (Jena Malone), she moves them to Lucky Diggins, a lawless town in the grip of gold rush fever. But as mother and daughter will discover, the frontier has as much potential for opportunity and adventure as it does for hardship and danger.

Also starring Meat Loaf Aday and Robert Pastorelli. Based on the novel by Karen Cushman, written by Christopher Lofton, directed by Jeremy Kagan.
