Cabaret Balkan is a harsh descent into the chaos of former Yugoslavia where the population in general and most individuals are primed to explode into hatred and hostility. Set in 1955 Belgrade during one night, Cabaret Balkan triumphantly ricochets from black comedy to heightened realism expressing hope that in spite of everything, humanity still exists.

Starring Miki Manojlovic as Michael, the homecoming man, Sergej Trifunovic as the young man chewing gum who takes the bus hostage, Mirjana Jokovic as Ana, the "flirt" on the bus, George's girlfriend, Lazar Ristovski as the boxer who takes the train, Mira Banjac as the Bosnian Serb mother, Ivan Bekjarev as the man on the bus who thinks he's tough, Aleksandar Bercek as Dimitri, the crippled ex-cop from the local cafe, Voja Brajovic as Topi, the ex-student revolutionary trafficker, Bogdan Diklic as John, the VW driver, Milena Doctoravic as the lady on the bus with the hat and fox stole, Nebojsa Glogovac as the chain-smoking taxi driver, Mirjana Karanovic as Natalia, Michael's ex-fiancée, Dragan Jovanovic as Kosta, the man with the oar, Toni Mihajlovski as George, the eternal culprit, Ana's boyfriend and Nebojsa Milovanovic as the Bosnian Serb son who doesn't want to end up like his father.
