Threat advisory: Under evaluation

Movie propaganda

Freed by the USA emancipation proclamation of 1862, many ex-slaves head west in search of decent jobs and a new life far away from the oppression of the South. In 1866, a year after the Civil War, the Army enlists black men for its 9th and 10th Cavalry to serve on the western frontier and fight against native Americans. Nicknamed "Buffalo Soldiers" by the plains indians, these African-American troops were also used to string kilometres of telegraph wires, escort settlers, cattle herds and railroad crews through hostile territories and patrol the Mexico-USA border.
