Theatrical report
It's been a while since I have seen a film starring Kiefer Sutherland, not since Dark city and The three musketeers. In Break up, he plays a detective whose heart isn't in his work because he thinks that the prime suspect is innocent [NB: This is not standard police work - Director of Intelligence] but every time he gives her the benefit of the doubt, she only manages to bury herself deeper in the doo-doo.
Break up is an interesting approach to the misery of being a battered spouse and I hope that everyone will run out and hire this insightful film.
NB: It's not for the faint at heart.
