A delightful film about finding love... at any age!
Lois (Dyan Cannon) and her friends live in a retirement village in Boynton Beach, Florida USA. Each week they meet at a local bereavement group where they've gone to find emotional support after the loss of a loved one. But soon they each find themselves on a journey they could never have predicted when they re-enter the "dating scene" after many decades - only to find that it's a whole new world out there. As the Baby Boomer generation now approaches retirement age, the concept of what it means to be older has dramatically changed. No-one sees themselves as becoming old, and the residents of Boynton Beach aren't about to start. In a world where 60 is fast becoming the new 40, Boynton Beach Club shows us that it's never to late too fall in love with ourselves and others, whatever your age.

Boynton Beach Club is a romantic comedy for old people. When I say old I don't just mean people in their thirties, I mean people who live in retirement villages. These are the cutting edge baby boomers, wrinkles and all. Now don't hit me with your Zimmer frame but it's also pretty dull. Everything goes the way it should romance-wise, the biggest drama is whether or not to have sex on the first date (at their age!) and no-one moves faster than a wet Wednesday. (Interestingly, it's a wet Wednesday as I write this report.)
This film is of the old people, by the old people, for the old people. If you're an old person you might enjoy it.
