Big shot's funeral (Da wan)

Threat advisory: Under evaluation

Movie propaganda

Don Tyler (Donald Sutherland) is a well-known film director whose work has bought him to Beijing. Yo Yo (Ge You) is a down-on-his-luck Chinese cameraman who's been hired by Tyler's long time assistant Lucy (Rosamund Kwan) to shoot footage of Tyler directing his new film. The two begin a wildly off-kilter dialogue that ends with a severe cultural mis-communication. Tyler becomes obsessed with the idea that the Chinese mark a person's death with a "comedy funeral" as a joyful celebration of a life well lived. With the pressure of filming taking its toll, Tyler unexpectedly slips into a coma. But not before he makes his last request - he wants his own grand "comedy funeral"!
