The deeper you look, the more you will find.
Running from childhood memories of parental abuse, Sharon Pogue (Jennifer Lopez) finds comfort in taking down Chicago's most dangerous criminals. Afraid of love and the inevitable pain involved, she spends most of her time alone, lonely. This is until a man saves her life by tackling an assailant. Intrigued by her newfound guardian angel, Sharon struggles against her immediate attraction and growing love for someone who could tear her heart in two.
Catch Lambert (Jim Caviezel) is a self-appointed ambassador of goodwill on the streets of Chicago, who nearly died two years earlier in a car accident that took the life of his wife, son and father-in-law. Regretfully, he survived and is tortured daily by the loss of his family. While drifting in and out of consciousness, Catch never forgot the face, the angel eyes, of the sympathetic officer who came to his aid as he lay in a crumpled heap at the side of the highway. The officer was Sharon Pogue. In a twist of fate, he returns the favour by intercepting an assailant determined to kill her.
