Theatrical report

This film is exactly what it purports to be, a doco about teenagers in their last year of high school in the USA. On the downside, they are all white and middle class, which most Yanks are, so it excludes the rich and poor, the black and brown and yellow and red, the drop-outs, the urban, the boarders, the private schoolies and anyone who doesn't fit into the pigeon holes thoughtfully provided (jock, princess, geek, emo, popular). Yes, this demographic does include most schoolies but so does American pie.

American teen is about people who can be stereotyped. Fortunately, most of them will be killed by zombies while on the way to the senior prom.

The documentary, school, teen movie American teen is directed by Nanette Burstein and stars Hannah Bailey, Megan Krizmanich, Jake Tusing.
