The original animated feature from producer Steven Spielberg made its theatrical debut in 1987 followed by its successful sequel An American tail: Fievel goes west, theatrically released in 1992.
The critically acclaimed story follows the humourous and dramatic adventures of Fievel Mousekewitz, a brave little boy mouse who journeys from Russia to America with his family in the 19th century to seek a new life free of cat persecution. During the stormy boat trip, Fievel is lost at sea when his curiosity gets the best of him. When he finally washes up ashore in New York harbour, Fievel is determined to reunite with the family and sets out on a desperate search to find them. Full of many surprises, twists and turns, An American tail interweaves captivating music including Grammy-winning song Somewhere out there.
