Movie propaganda
Some passions can never be tamed.
Texas teenager John Grady (Matt Damon) finds himself alone in the world after his mother sells the ranch where he grew up, forcing him to leave the only life he has ever known. Joined by his pal Lacey Rawlins (Henry Thomas), John sets off on horseback for Mexico, where the cowboy life still exists. On their way south, the two precocious horsemen encounter a variety of adventures, pick up a sidekick (a 13-year-old misfit named Blevins - Lucas Black) and eventually arrive at a hacienda where they are hired to break horses. There, John falls into an ill-fated romance with Alejandra (Penélope Cruz), the beautiful daughter of a wealthy ranch owner (Rubén Blades as Don Hector Rocha Y Villarael). It is a disaster that leads to arrest, a Mexican jail and a murder in self-defence - and ultimately proves to be John Grady's greatest test of maturity.

Theatrical report
At first I believed that I was going to have to sit through a couple of hours of melodrama... but I was wrong (it can happen).
Matt Damon shows yet again (after Saving Private Ryan and The legend of Bagger Vance) that he is the true American hero.
Hollywood also shows the rest of the world that there is nothing more exciting than watching American history.
*Sighs*
Nobody's perfect, especially Hollywood. And they still can't act.
The one thing that I did like about All the pretty horses, and the rest of you will, too, is that the dashing young hero doesn't get the girl.
