Threat advisory: Elevated - Significant risk of entertaining activities
Movie propaganda
Elmo (Kevin Clash) loves his fuzzy, well-worn blue blanket better than anything in the whole world. In fact, they are inseparable... a perfect team. Elmo would never let anything happen to it; until a tug-of-war with his friend Zoe sends his beloved blanket into a faraway land and Elmo in hot pursuit.
Facing life without his cherished blanket, Elmo summons all of his courage and determination and sets off on an action-packed rescue mission that plunges him into Grouchland - a place full of grouchy creatures, stinky garbage and the villainous Huxley (Mandy Patinkin). There, Elmo learns an important lesson about sharing.

Theatrical report
Elmo wants tickling!
Yup, the same Muppet merchandising ploy that whupped your wallet at Christmas is now starring in his own film. And he's brought along his Sesame Street friends to keep the laughs rolling along! Plus, Elmo makes a whole lot of new friends as well!
Ooops, I've been reading too many publicity notes.
The adventures of Elmo in Grouchland is a light and bubbly kiddie flick timed for the back to school blues. The young 'uns will love it for the songs, colour and movement. Bert and Ernie make several cameo appearances, as do Big Bird, Oscar, Grover and all your family favourites. (D'oh! I'm doing it again!)
While there is nothing particularly special about Elmo's adventures there is also nothing wrong with them. The film does exactly what it should: entertain. The moral dimension is there for parental units to exploit as necessary. Have no qualms about allowing your nippers to see this: it's a good way to kill a few hours (once you factor in messing around, Macca's, parking the car, etc).
