He's the best there is! (Actually, he's the only one there is.)
To be a pet detective, you have to understand both the criminals and animals. Ace Ventura (Jim Carrey) goes even further... he behaves like a criminal animal. When the Miami Dolphins' mascot, Snowbell (a dolphin), is stolen just before the Superbowl, Ace Ventura is put on the case. Now, who would want to steal a dolphin, and why?

Theatrical report
Well, you gotta like Jim Carrey. Otherwise, what're you doing reading about one of his films?
Ace Ventura: Pet detective is a classic Jim Carrey flick with over-acting, weird voices, strange voices and gags in abundance. The character of Ace is one of those entirely fictional personalities at whom everyone can laugh because everyone is further up the food chain. He is the medieval buffoon in modern dress.
Expect toilet humour, misogyny, homophobia and racism and you won't be disappointed. Expect to laugh out loud and you won't be disappointed, either: Ace Ventura: Pet detective is a film for all the teenage boys who never quite managed to grow up.
Bloody funny, but.
There are no special features on the DVD, which is disappointing; you'd expect to at least find a blooper reel.
