Movie propaganda

He was a writer. He thought he wrote about the future but it really was the past. In his novel, a mysterious train left for 2046 every once in a while. Everyone who went there had the same intention… to recapture their lost memories. It was said that in 2046, nothing ever changed. Nobody knew for sure if it was true, because nobody who went there had ever come back - except for one. He was there. He chose to leave. He wanted to change.

Theatrical report

Hoo boy, 2046 is long. Way too long. It goes on and on and on. And on. Your attention is diffused between the numerous women with whom the numerous men are falling in love (or simply with whom they are having sex). The cinematography and mise en scene are marvellous and the interplay of the characters is fine... but there's just too much of it.

As for love, remember, you can't ever go back, so make the most of everything - and if you're not with the one you love, love the one you're with.

See In the mood for love instead.
